Plentywaka , the hassle-free on-demand ride mobility platform has acquired Stabus , a Ghanaian mobility startup. This is part of Plentywaka's plan to build the largest shared mobility platform across Africa.
Stabus was launched in 2019 by Isidore Kpotufe and has moved 100,000 people across the capital Accra. Its services include the provision of staff buses for multinationals and the daily bus-stop transportation for the public. Stabus will now be referred to as Plentywaka Ghana with the company offering a range of new low-cost and premium vehicles such as mini-vans, cars, and public transportation buses.
Plentywaka has secured a $1.2 million seed round from a wide range of United States, Canada, China, and Nigeria investors. The round was led by Xchange , while Techstars made a follow-on investment. Other investors are SOSV, ShockVentures , Argentil Capital Partners and ODBA Co Ventures, and other angel investors.
